Negus the Dark

Behold Negus the Dark, another one of my Sonic villains and the most dangerous of them. Negus is a twisted, sinister doppelganger of Rej the Reject with abilities that even surpass the Rejus form.

Backstory
After Rej the Reject survived and escaped from Eggman’s base, the Doctor was very impressed that such a defective robot would be so capable, so he decided to finalise the Eggsimilator Project.

Soon Eggman made an alliance with Hex the Bat so he can get his hands on a special jewel for a power source (since he’s had bad luck with Chaos Emeralds and his machines). The jewel was known as the Nega Gem, an ancient artefact created by dark wizards during a Mystic War centuries ago by sealing a dark energy being from another plane of existence. This Nega Gem could enhance the dark magical powers of wizards, witches and demons to unimaginable levels, but it was hidden for centuries until found by Hex.

The deal was that if Hex allowed the Gem to power the new Eggsimilator then Eggman would give her access to his vaults of ancient artefacts he has collected in his life. At first it was successful, the machine was able to absorb an unlimited amount of other robots and past doomsday machines, taking on different robotic shapes (Ape, Bird, Elephant) and was able to help Team Hex collect the Chaos Emeralds for Eggman with little resistance from Team Eclipse. It wasn’t long before the Eggsimilator absorbed Eggman’s current base and became a new floating fortress for him, one he intends to take into space and have it absorb Space Colony Ark and the Eclipse Cannon to perfect it.

However Team Eclipse managed to infiltrate the fortress and took on the defences like the “Egg Mimic” a shape-shifting machine made of liquid metal that can copy its opponents and their abilities (Was defeated by Lunas the Echidna). The fortress itself was brought down by Rej the Reject who found and used the “Tech-Enhancer” cube to become Rejus and destroy the core of the Eggsimilator. After the fortress crashed into the ocean, Team Eclipse had to contend with the now released Nega being from the Nega Gem, but thanks to the Chaos Emeralds they were able to shatter the gem and destroy the beast…or so they thought.

What happened next was the fragments of the gem fell onto the remains of the Egg Mimic, which then became absorbed by remaining nanotech in the Eggsimilator, and using memory from the battle with Rejus took on a new form.

The Nega being was able to survive by making a robotic body for itself and possess it, like a life support suit, and for the first time in its existence it obtained sentience and named itself “Negus the Dark”. He has since been on a conquest to either obtain more power, acquire better technology or destroy his “Brother” Rej to steal his Tech-Enhancer cube for himself. So far he has been a dangerous foe to Team Eclipse, more so then Hex and her minions and maybe equal in threat to demon Gwynn.

Negus has committed the following schemes and evil acts:

1) Using factories to secretly manufacture Fake Chaos Emeralds in an attempt to regain his former power levels. Was defeated by Ruby the Vixen when she accidentally absorbed several emeralds and became “Dark Super Ruby”.

2) Attempted to abduct the Babylonian Elder Chronos (Master Maker of Extreme Gear technology) in order to steal Babylonian technology secrets. Defeated by Master Magnus, Rej and Umbra the Wolf.

3) Was forced back into a new Nega Gem by the demon lord Gwynn and used to power him. Was unintentionally freed by Master Magnus and Umbra while using the power of the seven “World Rings” to defeat Gwynn.

4) Travelled back in time to eliminate Ruby the Vixen as a child so Team Eclipse wouldn’t exist to stop him. Was stopped by Master Magnus and Umbra who followed him into the past, and Umbra’s Mother during that time. However it turns out that Negus was in fact the renegade robot that murdered Ruby’s parents and made her an orphan (Predestination Paradox).

5) Was accidentally turned partially organic by the same artefact that transformed Rej and Chloe from robots into organic mobians. But Negus came into contact with the Zoah race, who were looking for the Tech-Enhancer cube inside Rej (it was an artefact of theirs) and allied himself with them in hopes he could reverse his “infection”. It worked and he became a robot again and was about to destroy his weakened brother, but was stopped due to the Zoah’s sense of honour that allowed Rej to live. This frustrated Negus so he attacked the Zoah General Roxxas and was about to destroy all of Rej’s friends. Was defeated when Rej used the power of the Tech-Enhancer to return himself back to robotic form so he could fight him. Was last seen thrown into space.

Abilities
Negus has all the same abilities as Rej in Rejus mode such as several tendrils, flight, arm cannon, lasers, missiles, etc and is as powerful. But he has a number of abilities of his own:
Liquid Metal Body: Negus’ body is composed of liquid metal nanites that allow him to absorb other machines, reassemble his body into other shapes and melt his body in a puddle.
Nega Energy Negus also has an energy form that he can use to attack others, but it must return to the robot body soon or it will perish. He can also drain energy from is enemies to boost his powers.

Personality
Negus is nothing like his Brother Rej, he is cold, merciless, sadistic, arrogant and power hungry. He has a hatred for any Organic life and thinks it is disgusting and weak (When he was turned partially organic he was so repulsed that his scream could be heard for miles). He also dislikes any magic users due to the fact that wizards forced him into a gem stone prison and used his powers for their own purposes. Because of this he doesn’t ally himself with Hex or Gwynn, or with anyone for that matter. He only shows respect for other energy life forms similar to him, such as the Zoah (Energy Giants), and only shows a little tolerance for machines he deems worthy to be around him. He considers his brother as a traitor to machines for being friends with organics and protecting them, and dislikes it with a passion when someone compares Negus to Rej (Almost killed Hex when she called Negus a piece of junk like Rej). Negus is more then willing to kill his enemies without hesitation, which makes him more dangerous then most of Team Eclipse’s foes.
