R2M Rej the Beetle

This is my RP character for the forum "RETURN TO MOBIUS".

Because of the rules of the forum, my main characters wouldn't be legal and I didn't feel like modifying their backstories just a little so they could. Also I wanted to try and use a character idea I briefly touched upon in the past with RPs with .

For those of you who think the above picture is familiar, you are right. Its a redone version of my original "Metamorphosis" artwork depicting my character Rej the Reject being turned into a fully organic beetle since I'm a little wiped from my recent artworks to draw one from scratch. Only this one is a cyborg and lives in the alternate world setting of Return to Mobius. Below is his profile: -

[b]Species:[/b] Mobian (Rhino Beetle)

[b]Description:[/b] A mostly grey coloured Rhino beetle, with yellow eyes, a blue crest horn, blue forearms, blue legs and blue shell on his back that stores and protects his insect wings. Has black hands with two fingers and a thumb on each, a light blue belly and wears black shoes with a white ring that goes around the sides. Right arm is robotic and right eye is cybernetic.

[b]Personality:[/b] Rej is a jokester at heart, always tries to make people smile and laugh by acting silly or making jokes. Never misses a chance to make wise cracks about his enemies even during battle as he finds it makes them lose concentration and gives him the advantage. But he is far from a fool; he can be serious when he wants to, especially when the situation calls for it. He is a hard worker when it comes to computers and gadgets and prides himself at meeting deadlines. He is a whiz at building machines.

[b]Likes[/b] Making jokes, playing video games, tinkering with gadgets, sweet foods, flying around freely.

[b] Dislikes [/b] Boring people, Sour foods, the thought of having his wings clipped, being grabbed by his horn.

[b]Bio:[/b] Rej grew up in the capital of Starlight City Zone, where he learned all about how to build computers and machines from his dad. However during Robotnik’s reign Rej was separated from his dad and was partially roboticized. Thanks to a timely rescue from the Freedom Fighters, the beetle was saved only losing an eye and an arm to the process. He soon became accustomed to being a cyborg, even enjoying tinkering with his arm to add new features to it. He mostly laid low during the fight against Robotnik and once the evil tyrant was overthrown he started to build a life for himself by running a machine repair business. This changed when the Metal Horde invaded, forcing Rej to seek shelter with the new Resistance. Over the next few years Rej has upgraded his robotic parts so he can be an effective mechanic, hacker and fighter to the new Freedom Fighters, but has retained the skill to make his friends laugh during these dark times.

[b]Weaknesses:[/b] Being part robotic Rej is vulnerable to being hacked himself, techno magic, EMP attacks and anything that can effect his circuits. If his insect wings get wet he cannot fly until they have been completely dried. And he is very ticklish.

[b]Weapon of Choice:[/b] His robotic arm can transform into a blaster that can shoot energy bolts that have a number of strength settings, lowest being stun, highest being kill. The arm can also extend a long flexible metal tendril that can be used as a whip or as an extra limb that can grab objects or people.

[b]Relationship Status:[/b] Single

[b]Racial Abilities:[/b] Being a beetle Rej has a hard shell on his back that can protect him from weak attacks from behind. The shell also protects his wings that allow him to fly. His robotic arm has been modified by him to serve as both a weapon and a tool, it can transform into a blaster, extend a metal tendril and his hand can transform into a number of tools for use in building machines. His cybernetic eye allows him different vision modes if he closes his real eye. Modes include night vision, heat vision and targeting vision, but no X-Ray vision to his disappointment. This eye also allows him to hack into computer systems by plugging his finger into the system, but this leaves his mind and body vulnerable to attack while he is “Surfing the Web”.

[b]Special Abilities / Powers:[/b] Since his arm is fully robotic, Rej is very strong but only in the one arm and can punch through steel. But since his legs aren’t robotic he cannot lift anything too heavy.
